Louisiana has always had a straightforward understanding of gambling. If someone puts money on the outcome of a sporting event with the expectation of winning more money, we regulate it as gaming. It’s not complicated. Unfortunately, Washington is complicating it.

Among the American electorate, seniors are the most likely to be registered to vote. Voter registration in the 65-74 age group is an astounding 80.5%, and among those 75 years and older, it is 80.1%.

Not only are older voters more likely to be registered, but these Americans are also the most likely to participate in elections. In the 2020 presidential election, 71.9% of Americans aged 65 and older voted. In comparison, only 48% of Americans aged 18-24 voted.

The passage of the GENIUS Act in July was a major victory for the cryptocurrency industry. It provided a structure for holders of stablecoins, dollar-backed digital tokens. Stablecoins function as digital cash, allowing people and businesses to move money faster and cheaper, while strengthening the U.S. dollar in the digital economy.

Today, it is the preferred choice for 53% of all Medicare beneficiaries. Unlike traditional Medicare, MA offers a more integrated, affordable, and personalized approach to care, often including additional benefits such as dental, vision, hearing, and wellness programs.

From the first oil well at Jennings to today’s liquefied-natural-gas docks and petrochemical corridors, the people of Louisiana have lived that creed. The results speak for themselves.

As the “Big, Beautiful Bill” is being considered in the U.S. Senate, one powerful group is genuinely concerned about potential backroom deals being cut by U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA).
